This SHS 1 ICT course introduces students to foundational digital skills for learning, communication, and problem-solving. It is designed for first-year senior high students in Ghana and supports diverse learners through structured guidance, interactive activities, and practical tasks. The course matters because ICT is essential for academic success, employability, and responsible digital citizenship. Learners will build confidence using computers, productivity tools, and the internet in ways that are ethical and safe.
The course is delivered online via Moodle, combining teacher announcements, weekly modules, short videos, guided readings, interactive quizzes, and collaborative forums. Students will participate in reflective journals, peer discussion, and hands-on assignments, with clear expectations and supportive feedback. The tone is welcoming and inclusive, fostering social presence through introductions, group norms, and respectful dialogue. Teaching presence is established through clear structure, weekly guidance, and timely responses. Cognitive presence is developed through inquiry-based tasks, problem-solving, and real-world application
